Falcon Sprints have always been one of those cars well liked by all 3 camps. It's something when a Ford guy, a GM guy and a Mopar guy can all agree on car being cool.

This one has the pedigree and all the makings of a really cool cruiser. It has been upgraded with a 302 complete with aluminum intake manifold, Holley carburetor, tubular headers and a mild performance camshaft. Backing up that 302 is an AOD 4 speed overdrive equipped automatic. The front suspension was completely replaced with a modern Mustang II style clip including Rack & Pinion Steering and Power Front Disc Brakes. The puny 13" steel wheels were ditched and now 16/17" Polished American Racing Torque Thrust II wheels provide modern performance & good looks.

The paint on this one presents well from 20 feet as its older with touch ups. Get closer and the imperfections get more obvious. The body itself is pretty solid with minimal bubbles on the driver's quarter. The floors have the typical convertible issues as each have some rust so plan on addressing each panel. The frame rails and torque boxes look pretty nice though. Even the trunk metal is pretty solid with only a few minor & localized pinholes.

The interior is obviously older with wear. However, those desirable Spring bucket seats and floor console are still in place. Even the faux woodgrain steering wheel is still in place. Falcon's had a simple interior setup so the restoration should be simple & straight forward.

Surprisingly the convertible top still works nicely. Just hit the switch and the top moves easily up or down. The rear window is old and has been unzipped so at the time of pics it was too cold to attach it without destroying it. With some warmth it would zip back in place but the plastic window is browned from age.

The car was a long term project for the prior owner. As such the tires are older and should be replaced prior to any dedicated street use. They still hold air and drive fine around our complex. The car brakes comfortably and confidently. Driving down the road the steering is crisp & responsive. With minimal work, this one should be a good project with a lot of upside.
